Every Knee Will Bow
by Anna Robinson-Worley
You ever wondered about the scripture verse that talks about every knee bowing at the Name of Jesus.
This means that systems, institutions, cultures, environments, legislations, codes, ordinances, regulations, and policies must adjust to accommodate His divide purpose. They will become adaptable and flexible and they will make the needed adjustments. They will become purpose-driven and kingdom-principled.
"Let Christ himself be our example as to what our attitude should be. For he, who had always been God by nature, did not cling to his prerogatives as God’s equal, but stripped himself of all privilege by consenting to be a slave by nature and being born as mortal man. And, having become man, he humbled himself by living a life of utter obedience, even to the extent of dying, and the death he died was the death of a common criminal. That is why God has now lifted him so high, and has given him the name beyond all names, so that at the name of Jesus “every knee shall bow”, whether in Heaven or earth or under the earth. And that is why, in the end, “every tongue shall confess” that Jesus Christ” is the Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians 2:10
This bowing will occur because God has lifted Jesus up high and everything in Heaven and on Earth will submit to his leadership. This verse is talking about the second coming of Jesus . When he visibly returns, this will cause the whole earth to have to acknowledge that He is Lord. There will be no doubt, no debate, and no question when Jesus comes a second time that he truly is who he said he was. Those in Heaven are talking about the angelic beings. Those who are in the Earth refer to us. Those who are under the earth are the demonic beings. All will come under the subjection to His Lordship and have to bow.
Although there are systems, institutions, cultures, environments, legislation, codes, ordinances, regulations, and policies that have rejected the knowledge of Him and the gospel message they will have to bow to His Lordship. Once He returns, there will be no disputing who He is and they will have to acknowledge Him as Lord over the heaven and the earth.
Those who rejected Jesus and the gospel message will be required to face the reality of who Jesus really is and they will have to acknowledge their grave error in not choosing to repent and they will have to turn to Jesus and ask for forgiveness. It will be a most sobering moment for them when they realize that they were wrong. There will be no escaping the truth about Jesus and the reverence that He is entitled to. These non-believers will be required to bow before Him.
What does this mean for us today? As believers we are instructed to make ourselves ready for the second coming of Jesus. In Matthew 24, It talks about the second coming of the Lord. "For as lightning flashes across from east to west so will the Son of Man’s coming be. "
This is going to be a sudden arrival that will be seen visually in the clouds throughout the whole earth. There will be drastic things going on in the heavenlies and in the earth.
“Immediately after the misery of those days ‘the sun will be darkened, the moon will fail to give her light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of heaven will be shaken’. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will wring their hands as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky in power and great splendor. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet-call and they will gather his chosen from the four winds—from one end of the heavens to the other. "
Matt 24:29-31
The second coming of Jesus will happen at a time unknown to us, so it is vitally important that we live each day as though it will be the day Jesus returns. We need to be ready at all times because the day is approaching when every knee will bow before Jesus and every tongue will confess that he is Lord. This verse is a reminder that we have been commissioned to go and share the Gospel message with all people and nations so that others will repent and put their faith in Jesus.
"Believe me, this generation will not disappear till all this has taken place. Earth and sky will pass away, but my words will never pass away! But about that actual day and time no one knows—not even the angels of Heaven, nor the Son, only the Father. For just as life went on in the days of Noah so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. In those days before the flood people were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage until the very day that Noah went into the ark, and knew nothing about the flood until it came and destroyed them all. So will it be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left behind. Two women will be grinding at the hand-mill; one is taken and one is left behind." Matt 24: 32-41
“You must be on the alert then, for you do not know when your master is coming. You can be sure of this, however, that if the householder had known what time of night the burglar would arrive, he would have been ready for him and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. That is why you must always be ready, for you do not know what time the Son of Man will arrive.” Matt 24: 42-44
